Jute is a cash crop and it is sown from March-May and harvested from end of June to September upon the weather conditions.

  1.  Where Jute is used ?

Jute is used mainly for manufacturing of Sacking, Hessian, and other products. It is one of the most versatile fiber and also it is eco – friendly which has various uses in the form of handicraft items.

  1.  In which areas decorative Jute based Fabrics are used ?

It is mainly used in furnishing, carpets, upholstery, blankets, shopping bags and other home made textiles.

  1.  Which are the major countries where jute diversified product are exported ?

USA, UK, Italy, Germany and Spain.

  1.  What is jute diversification ?

Today jute has become versatile in the shape of a wider range of consumer products. Utilization of jute for the making of market worthy products has opened up huge opportunity for employment generation. A wide range of diversified jute products are increasing every day. These diversified jute products include fancy jute bags, soft luggage, footwear, door panels, check sarees, wide range of furnishing, gift items, table lamps, floor decor, well decor and many more items.

Jute bags are environment friendly product and a natural alternative with inherent advantages. Jute is an agricultural product while synthetic bags are manufactured from polyester granules as a by products of naptha, which poses a number if hazards. The hessian, a finer quality of jute is called Burlap. Burlap bags are used to ship and store grain, fruits and vegetables, flour, sugar, animal feeds and other agricultural commodities.

The basic jute products manufactured in jute mills are :
Hessian Cloths, sacking Cloths, Jute Yarn, Carpet Backing Cloths (CBC), Bags, Twines, D.W. Tarpaulin/ P.W. canvas, Shopping bags, Geo-textiles, Jute Mats and floor coverings, Tobacco sheets, carpets etc..

  1.  What is Jute Geotextile?

Jute Geo-textile is a verity of jute available in woven and non-woven fabrics used for natural options to save the environment. Jute being an eco-friendly have the distinguishing features such as: High moisture absorption capacity, flexibility and drainage properties. Geo jute used in erosion control, separation, filtration and drainage in civil engineering work, and agricultural uses. It also hasapplication in rural road pavement construction and agro plant mulching.

  1.  What is Earth Floors?

Earth Floors are matting, Area rugs and Runners made from jute fiber. They are produced by expert weaver’s and craftsmen in Bangladesh with rich colors a and authentic designs. There is a long tradition of making Earth Floors with beautiful and attractive design of Jute rugs in the country.

  1. What happen if the Earth Floors get wet ?

The matting or rugs can be de-moistured as soon as it gets wet. They can also be dry cleaned.

  1.  Is the Earth Floors fiber safe?

Usually the Earth Floors, rugs or matting are treated with fire retardency application to develop fire resistance.

  1.  What are the advantages of using Jute fabrics over Polypropylene / Polyethylene?

Jute is environment friendly and completely biodegradable. Synthetics possess a number of hazardswith serious toxic effects – in both the production and disposed aspects of it – that many western countries have banned it for use in food products.

Jute is an indigenous product while synthetic bags manufactured from polyester granules whoseconstituents pose a number of hazards. The noxious gases, particles and volatile organic compounds emitted create pollution and slow poisoning the earth during its disposals.

Jute bags have porosity, easily withstand the high temperature and much stronger than poly sacks. Jute bags can be re-used and can easily be repaired.

  1.  What are the different grade of Raw Jute ?

Raw jute is classified according to quality of jute and its application. The fine quality white raw jute is graded as W1, W2, W3, — to W8. The Tossa raw jute is graded from TD1, TD2, — to TD8. Mesta raw jute is graded as Mesta Top, Mesta Mid, Mesta Bottom etc.. Jute mills and jute brokers also grades the raw jute according to jute growing regions. The lowest grade is termed as cuttings.

  1.  How much these Jute bags cost ?

Prices of these bags vary from USD 0.5 TO USD 3.50 per pc depending upon size, handle, printing etc.

  1.  What is the freight element like ?

Ocean Freight :

(a) For Full Container Load (FCL) approx. 15 – 20% of the price of the bag.
(b) For Less Container Load (LCL) approx. 20 – 25% of the price of the bag.

Air Freight :

About 110 – 125% of the price of the bag.

  1.  How can I get the samples and how long will it take ?

It takes us 7 – 10 days to prepare the samples. The samples are generally sent on “TO PAY” basis – for this you have to give us your account number with any International Courier.

  1.  Can I get my logos / designs printed ?

Yes, you can have any logo or design of your choice printed on the bag.

  1.  How do I send the Artwork ?

Artworks can be sent in the following formats – Corel Draw 12.0 or Lower (CDR), Adobe Photoshop (PSD, JPEG, TIFF, BMP), Adobe Acrobat (PDF). However, JPEG is the most preferred format. You can also send CAMERA – READY art in the form of clean laser print.
20.  How can I be assured of quality?

We assure you a quality product, timely delivery and value for money. However, for your satisfaction you can have the goods inspected by any surveyor of your choice at your cost prior to shipment.

Time to really personalise your bag! The inks used by Jutexpo are water based AZO free pigments. These can be matched to any pantone within reason, but please note that due to the natural properties of Jute, there may be some minor colour variation. If exact colour representation is crucial to your design, please mention this to our sales team.
